So the basic idea here is, Amazon.com's Associated program pays a (usually) 15% commission on direct referrals of the form:

But only 5% on secondary referrals you get to from there, such as:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0679883568/ref=sim_books/002-5416087-2481244
So, the Amazonator lets you browse around within Amazon.com all you want,
but when you find a book you want to buy you first click on the button.
This replaces the secondary referral page with a direct referral,
so I get the full commission.
