There's one starting point for this hunt that is clearly the best - from there, it's a level ~1 mile walk to the cache. This starting point is a little west of an old abandoned gas station. If you haven't seen the gas station, you may be in the wrong place, or at least you will have unnecessary hill and fence climbing to do.
Oh, and by the way - bring a flashlight.
