atom Sun/Moon Rise/Set Line-Ups

This map helps you figure out when the sun or the full moon will rise or set along a particular sight line, so you can take cool pictures.

With no markers placed, the data panel on the right just shows you the next few days of rises and sets at gthe map's location.

To use the line-up calculator, select either "From" or "To" and click on the map to place a marker. Then change the setting and click on the map again to place the other marker. Now you'll have the coordinates of both markers displayed, plus the bearing of the line between them; and in the data panel you'll get a list of times when the line-up should occur.
