Email has been restored, and email from earlier today is now being delivered. We "downgraded" to an earlier version of VMware, which finally resolved the issues seen through the day.
All systems appear to be fine again. You may see duplicate mails as a rare side-effect due to all the up and down of the servers. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
