A quick ride around downtown SF and the waterfront, followed by a nice sunset viewed from Golden Gate Fields in Albany.

The weatherfolks were predicting a hard freeze last night, so before going to bed I made a tripod out of three poles and a tie-wrap, and put a dripping hose on top. It worked much better than I expected! The tower ended up 21.5" tall.

Wandered around Berkeley for a while with Dawn.

Biked around Oakland and Berkeley a little on a sunny but really cold day.

Took BART to Fremont and then explored the bay's shoreline around to Alviso. Then south to Santa Clara to catch Caltrain.

I got an urge to ride over the Golden Gate Bridge to Point Bonita in the Marin Headlands. The path to the lighthouse was not open but I did find some very nice military ruins nearby.

Went into the city for a New Year party. But first I stopped off in Lafayette to see a memorial to the soldiers killed in Iraq.

I made an after-dark visit to Oakland Chinatown looking for neon signs and puddles, but there really aren't very many neon signs there. I got some ok pix elsewhere in Oakland.

Nice day for a ride through West Oakland, over to Alameda on the Park Street Bridge, north through Alameda, and back to Oakland through the Posey Tube.
